Senior Dawn Harper, sophomore Nicole Duhart and freshman Rhonda Watkins highlighted the Bruin women competitors on Saturday at the Cal State Northridge Invitational as all three posted individual wins in their respective events.
Watkins improved on her regional qualifying mark in the long jump with a season-best leap of 20-4.25 to win that event. Duhart also jumped a regional qualifier in her first meet as a Bruin, winning the triple jump with a mark of 40-7.50. Harper clocked 11.89 to win the 100m race, while Caldwell won the 800m in a time of 2;11.82. Senior Leslie Barrie also posted an individual win, running 4:29.31 in the 1500m to win that event.
In the pole vault, sophomore Elizabeth Woepse also achieved a regional standard, jumping a season-best 12-5.50 to finish 2nd overall. Sophomore Ingrid Kantola was third in her first outdoor meet of the season, jumping 11-11.75. Sophomore Nicci Faires jumped a season-best 11-5.75 for fifth-place, while sophomore Megan Jamerson and freshman Anastasia Papadakis tied for ninth with marks of 10-6.
Eight Bruins competed in the 1500m on Saturday - Barrie, 4:29.31 (1st); sophomore Claire Rethmeier, 4:32.13 (2nd); junior Jenna Timinsky, 4:33.85 (3rd); junior Allison Hall, 4:37.89 (5th); freshman Ciara Viehweg, 4:40.54 (6th); sophomore Alice Bohannon, 4:48.90 (7th); freshman Gabrielle Bournes, 4:50.22 (8th); and senior Sarah West, 4:53.48 (11th).
In the high jump, freshman Lauren Correa finished third with a mark of 5-5 and the 4x100m team was second in 46.05.
