Women's Soccer Edges CS Fullerton 2-1 in Double Overtime

No. 9 UCLA and CS Fullerton went head-to-head in a tough battle with the Bruins just edging the Titans in double overtime 2-1. With just 39 seconds gone in the second overtime, freshman forward Staci Duncan clinched the win for UCLA, scoring off of defender Skylar Littles pass up the middle. UCLA got on the scoreboard first in the 24th minute when freshman midfielder Breana Boling knocked in her third goal of the season off an assist from senior forward Larisa Kiremidjian. The Titans evened up the score in the 58th minute with Amy Barnes scoring off an assist form Kris Quiroz. UCLA had a few opportunities in the end of regulation and in the first overtime, but were not able to capitalize. In the game, UCLA out shot CS Fullerton 19-7. This overtime win marks the first overtime game UCLA has played since November 3, 1996. UCLAs record improves to 7-1, while the Titans drop to 4-4. UCLA faces the San Diego Toreros at 2 pm on Sunday, September 27 at the North Athletic Field on the UCLA campus.
