The fifth-ranked UCLA women's golf team competes today in the 22nd Annual Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington at Sahalee Golf and Country Club in Redmond, WA.
Sahalee will play to a par of 72 over 6,030 yards.
The Bruins will feature a team of two seniors, a junior, a sophomore and a freshman as they look for their first tournament title of the season. All-American Charlotte Mayorkas, ranked 17th in the country, will play in the top spot for the Bruins who are paired with the University of San Francisco and Oregon in the first round. Mayorkas leads UCLA with a scoring average of 72.8 and two Top 15 finishes.
In the No.2 spot is freshman Hannah Jun, who recorded her best collegiate round at the Mason Rudolph Championship two weeks ago. Jun's first round score of 67 set a UCLA freshman record and was one stroke off the school record.
Playing at number three is sophomore Susie Mathews, who boasts a pair of Top 25 finishes this season and ranks second on the team with a scoring average of 74.0. Senior Gina Umeck will play in the fourth spot after tying for 23rd in UCLA's last event. She is averaging 74.6. Finally, senior Bridget Dwyer will play in the fifth spot. Dwyer's 71 in the first round at the Mason Rudolph Championship helped the Bruins post a school record, seven-under par score in the first round.
All of the Pac-10 teams will compete in this tournament, including third-ranked Arizona and fourth-ranked California. Top players include third-ranked Erica Blasberg of Arizona and 10th-ranked Sarah Huarte of Cal.
