WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA junior Benjamin Kohlloeffel has been named the Pac-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week for Mar. 27 - Apr. 3, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Kohlloeffel, from Herne, Germany, dropped only two games against the Arizona schools last weekend. The junior, who upped his singles winning streak to 13, defeated No. 58 Roger Matalonga of Arizona and No. 85 Jonathan Kinsella of Arizona State by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores. On the doubles court, Kohlloeffel teamed with Philipp Gruendler at the No. 1 doubles position, winning both matches to help the Bruins start off the Conference season at 2-0. UCLA is 13-4 overall.
This is Kohlloeffel's second Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and second weekly honor all-time for UCLA.
