Three UCLA golfers played in the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in New York last week.

Sophomore Yvonne Choe and juniors Gina Umeck and Bridget Dwyer each participated in the grueling event, which features 36 holes of stroke play, followed by a match play draw for players making the two-round cut.

Choe tied for ninth in the stroke play portion and advanced to the first round of match play. She posted rounds of 71-72-143, one-over par, before falling 2&1 in the first round of match play to Christine Boucher of Canada.

Both Dwyer and Umeck missed the 36-hole cut. Dwyer tied for 63rd at 151 (72-79) and Umeck tied for 78th at 152 (76-76). For Dwyer, it was her second U.S. Women's Amateur event after she advanced to the first round of match play in 2001. The tournament was Umeck's first.
