Three Bruins Named To All-Pacific Region Softball Team

UCLA softball players Natasha Watley and Lyndsey Klein were named to the All-Pacific Region first-team, while teammate Julie Marshall earned second-team honors.

Watley, a freshman shortstop from Irvine, CA (Woodbridge HS), set new UCLA career and single-season records for stolen bases (32) in just her first season. Entering May 21, Watley led the Bruins in batting (.436), hits (75), triples (4) and steals.

Klein earned all-region honors for the first time in her career after batting .364 with a team-high 53 runs scored and 53 runs batted in. Klein, a senior second baseman from Roseville, CA (Oakmont HS) also leads the team in slugging percentage (.636) and ranks second in home runs with eight.

Marshall, a senior catcher from Bethel Island, CA (Liberty HS) earned all-region honors for the third time in her career. Marshall is currently batting .311 with a team-high 10 home runs to go along with 50 RBIs. Recently, she became the first Bruin and the 12th NCAA Division I player to accumulate 200 career RBIs.

All three players were also selected to the All-Pac-10 first team.
