The No. 16 UCLA women's volleyball team fell to the No. 6 Arizona Wildcats in three games (30-26, 30-27, 30-19) as the Bruins (17-9, 9-7 Pac-10) split on the road. Junior Rachell Johnson led the Bruins with 10 kills, while junior Nana Meriwether tallied seven blocks.
The Bruins outblocked the Wildcats 18-10, but Arizona dominated the serve game as they tallied 10 aces during the match. Freshman Nellie Spicer recorded 10 digs, while Meriwether hit for .523 (10-2-15). Freshman Blair Socci tallied the Bruins only aces of the game (2).
Arizona improved to 20-5 (12-4 Pac-10) with the win as three players posted double-digit kills.
UCLA will return home next week as the Bruins host their final two Pac-10 games of the season. It will also be senior night for UCLA's only senior, Nancy Barba, who will be recognized for her career at the game. UCLA will host Stanford on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:00 pm (televised on FSN) and California on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7:00 pm.
