Vault champion and Floor Exercise co-champion Ashley Miles, Alabama
"I'm very happy to be here. I was disappointed with how the team finish came together. I'm looking to next year to do better. Individually, I'm in awe to be able to defend the vault and share the floor with Courtney Bumpers. I'm glad to share it with Courtney and can't think of anyone better to share it with."
(On winning vault): "It definitely loosened me up. When I won vault I knew that I was in good contention. Waiting, I knew I had to hit the first and do a good second, and I did that. It loosened me up. For lack of a better word, I was glad to get it out of the way."
(On winning two events): "It means a lot. It's not often done, I don't think. It's cool. I congratulated Courtney, and she congratulated me. I didn't know I had won, so I thought it was just good sportsmanship, but then everybody else congratulated me. I am very excited."
(On being tired): "To tell you the truth, the podium helped. Podium is a lot softer, and on the third day it helped. I wasn't winded on my floor routine."
Uneven Bars champion Elise Ray, Michigan
"This competition in particular means a lot to me just because I had to sit out last year with my shoulder. So I came into this year's nationals really excited. I didn't like it at all sitting in the stands last night, so I was really excited to be back out competing. I'm really glad I could end on this note."
Balance Beam champion Ashley Kelly, Arizona State
"I'm excited to be here. It's so surreal. I hit my routine, but didn't know it would turn out like this. I'm just so excited."
"I didn't feel I had won. In warm-ups there are so many good beam workers. It's just amazing. It's the best routine I've ever done under pressure, but I didn't know I had won."
Floor Exercise champion Courtney Bumpers, North Carolina
"I was just excited to come here at the nationals and hit all my routines and have a great competition because my team didn't qualify. So I knew when I was coming in that I had to represent my school. I also had the chance to represent the conference that I'm in. So I was just happy to come here and hit my routines and hit floor to share the national championship with Ashley Miles. It is an amazing feeling."
Jeanette Antolin, UCLA Senior
"It was amazing out there tonight. I haven't been able to process it."
"I'm so proud to be a member of the UCLA gymnastics team. I'm so proud of my amazing teammates."
Kristen Maloney, UCLA Senior
"I feel pretty good. It has been a good three days. It hasn't sunk in yet."
Kate Richardson, UCLA Sophomore
"I wanted to have a good day and hit my events. After I fell on vault, I wanted to hit my bars routine to make up for it."
"We were all exhausted because you've been up so much for three days. We're drained."
"Today's been a lot of fun."
