Harper and Warren Lead Women's Track & Field at Tyson Indoor

Juniors Dawn Harper and Kamaiya Warren led the No. 16 UCLA women's track and field team in Fayetteville, AR as both posted NCAA provisional qualifiers for fourth-place finishes in their respective events.

Harper, competing in her first meet of the indoor season, ran 8.18 in both the prelims and finals to finish fourth overall. Her time was just .03 off of the NCAA automatic time for the Indoor Championships next month.

Warren, who had thrown a lifetime-best in every meet so far this season, continued her streak as she threw a new lifetime-best of 54-8 in the shot put. She is just over a foot shy of the automatic qualifer of 55-5.50.

The women's distance medley relay team placed second overall in a time of 11:37.98.

In other events on Saturday, sophomore Allison Miller jumped a season-best 5-6.50 in the high jump to finish tied for sixth, while freshman Lauren Correa posted her first high jump mark as a Bruin, clearing 5-4.50 for 13th-place. In the 800m, sophomore Alice Bohannon ran a lifetime-best 2:13.99 and freshman Gabrielle Bournes also ran a lifetime-best, 2:17.91.

On Friday, junior Allison Hall placed 12th in the Mile (5:00.33), while sophomore Renee Williams was 12th in the long jump (18-10.75). In the 400m, freshman Chanelle Curry ran 56.79.

The women return home for two weeks of training before heading back to Seattle, WA for the MPSF Indoor Championships Feb. 27-28. They will then head back to Arkansas March 10-11 for the NCAA Championships.
