Women's Cross Country Receives At-Large Bid for NCAA Championships
By: UCLA Athletics

Nov. 15, 2004

The UCLA women's cross country team received an at-large team bid to the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Sunday after a sixth-place finish at the NCAA West Regionals on Saturday. The Bruins will head to Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN on Monday, Nov. 22 to compete in the National Championships.

Sophomore Alison Costello led the team at Regionals with a 22nd place finish (21:21), and earned her second consecutive All-West Region honor. Costello has paced the Bruins all season and will lead this team into Nationals.

Last season, the women finished seventh at the NCAA Championships and after a strong showing at the Pre-NCAA meet earlier in the season, will again look for a top finish.

The women will join senior Jon Rankin, who received an at-large individual bid, in Indiana.
