The Bruins wound up an excellent week of practices with their first major scrimmage of the Fall camp on Saturday. Junior quarterback Drew Olson threw three touchdown passes in the 90-play scrimmage. Olson connected with senior Craig Bragg for a pair of scoring plays, from 16 and 17 yards. Bragg also had one other catch on the day for 17 yards. Olson's third scoring pass on the afternoon came on a five-yard toss to junior tight end Marcedes Lewis. Lewis also caught one other pass for a 22-yard gain. Olson completed 10-18 passes for 128 yards on the afternoon and had one pass intercepted by junior linebacker Spencer Havner. Other stats on the day included: * true freshman wide receiver Brandon Breazell - five catches for 61 yards * sophomore wide receiver Chris Steck - four catches for 44 yards and a touchdown * junior quarterback David Koral - completed 7-9 passes for 60 yards * sophomore quarterback Brian Callahan - completed 6-8 passes for 67 yards and one touchdown (12-yard pass to Steck) * redshirt freshman running back Derrick Williams - nine carries for 40 yards and one touchdown (four-yard scoring run) * true freshman running back Chris Markey - had the longest run of the day (20 yards) NOTE -- The Bruin practices will remain open to the public through Wednesday, August 25. The team is scheduled to practice on Sunday from 4-5:30 p.m.; Monday from 9-11:15 a.m. and from 3:30-5:30 p.m.; Tuesday from 9-11:15 a.m.; Wednesday from 9-11:15 a.m. and from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
