Sept. 19, 2003

Catharine Von Schwarz, who was a four-time All-American and four-time NCAA Champion at UCLA has rejoined the Bruin coaching staff, head coach Adam Krikorian announced today.

"I am very pleased that Catharine is returning to UCLA," said Krikorian. "She was one of the best collegiate water polo players of all-time. Cat will bring with her a tremendous amount of knowledge through her international experience and four National Championship seasons as a Bruin. She is a natural coach, whose energy and enthusiasm will be great for our young Bruin squad.

von Schwarz , who was an undergraduate assistant on Krikorian's 2001 staff, ranks second in the Bruin record books with 186 career goals. Her single-season outputs of 59 and 50 goals rank sixth and ninth, respectively.

A member of the U.S. Women's Water Polo Senior and Junior National Teams for over 10 years, Catharine 's primary responsibility on the staff will be to tutor the young Bruin centers.
