UCLA WRAPS UP MPSF PLAY WITH PEPPERDINE AT THE ROSE BOWL AQUATIC CENTER:
UCLA (17-5, 6-1 MPSF) will look to avenge a pair of early losses when it hosts fifth-ranked Pepperdine (15-6, 3-4 MPSF) in a 10:00 a.m. conference showdown at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. The Bruins fell to the Waves in their first match of the season, 7-4 before dropping a 9-6 decision in the second round of the So Cal Tournament.

The Waves leading scorer is junior driver Jesse Smith, who has scored 46 goals and has missed the last two matches due to an injury. He is listed as questionable for the remainder of the season. Pepperdine was tops in the MPSF prior to this weekend with a 5.63 team goals against average. Goalkeeper Ben Tait is only allowing 4.89 goals per contest.

BRUINS SWEEP HECTIC WEEK WITH THREE VICTORIES:
After edging non-conference foe Loyola Marymount in a midweek match-up, UCLA posted two commanding victories over MPSF opponents UC Irvine and Long Beach State.

Led by Ted Peck's game-winner, UCLA recorded a 7-6 overtime victory over LMU (11-12) on Thursday afternoon. With the victory, the Bruins improved to 11-0 against the Lions in the all-time series. Peck and Josh Hewko led the Bruins with two goals apiece, while goalie Joseph Axelrad posted 11 saves on the day.

The Bruins recorded their fifth MPSF victory on Saturday with a 10-7 win over UC Irvine. Junior driver Brett Ormsby tallied a game-high five goals, while Hewko and Chris Pulido both found the back of the net twice. Axelrad continued his impressive week with nine saves.

UCLA notched its 11th win in 12 matches with a 12-7 victory over Long Beach State on Sunday. Ormsby once again led the team with four scores, while Hewko posted his third straight double goal performance. Axelrad finished the week with another nine save match, which brought his week count to 19 saves.

BRUINS IN THE POLL:
The Bruins remained in the fourth spot in last week's Collegiate Coaches Water Polo Poll after falling to MPSF rival Stanford. The poll is released every Wednesday during the season and can be found at www.collegiatewaterpolo.org.
