Los Angeles, CA- The UCLA diving team returns to action this Thursday and Friday for competition in the Trojan Invitational. Kasey Reinhard, Chrissie Amorosia, Liz Ackerman and Jennifer McNally will represent the Bruins at the Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9 am each day at the USC McDonald's Swim Stadium on the Trojan campus. On Saturday and Sunday, Anne Baghramian, Michelle Brown, Regan Gosnell and Reinhard will join the women's swimming team in Evanston, IL to compete in the Northwestern Invitational.
Head coach Tom Stebbins' group is coming off a strong performance last weekend as two divers will join Baghramian at the NCAA Zone E meet. Sophomore Regan Gosnell qualified in both the one and three-meter boards on Friday against Arizona State after posting point totals of 256.50 and 275.55, respectively. Gosnell won the one-meter and was the runner-up in the three-meter event.
Freshman Michelle Brown had a sensational meet on Saturday against top-ranked Arizona as she claimed both the one-meter in a NCAA Zone E qualifying score of 264.45 and the three-meter with 255.00 points. Brown's victory in the three-meter was instrumental because it gave the Bruins a 134-129 advantage after the meet was deadlocked at 122.
