Box Score

Los Angeles, CA - The No. 9/23 UCLA men's soccer team recorded its sixth shutout of the season, dispatching Stanford by a 2-0 margin. Jordan Harvey and Kamani Hill scored for the Bruins, who are 4-0 at home and have not allowed a goal at Frank W. Marshall Field.

Harvey got UCLA on the board at 33:42 with a sharp-angled shot from seven yards out. Harvey trapped a cross from Sal Zizzo and fired a shot past Stanford goalkeeper Andrew Kartunen for his second goal in as many games.

A bad pass in the back by Stanford led to UCLA's second goal in the 59th minute. Hill intercepted the errant pass, passed it to Ramon Manak, who sent Hill a through ball up the middle. Hill's shot went into the right corner for his third goal of the year.

The Bruin defense shut Stanford down for most of the game, allowing only two shots, none on goal. UCLA goalkeeper Eric Reed earned the shutout, his fifth solo shutout of the year. Kartunen made six saves on 14 UCLA shots.

UCLA continued its mastery over Stanford, recording its eighth consecutive win over the Cardinal. The Bruins improve their record to 6-2-0, 2-0-0 in the Pac-10. Stanford drops to 3-5-2, 0-1-1 in the conference.

Note: UCLA's 1985 NCAA Championship team was honored at halftime. In attendance were Eric Biefeld, game-winning goal-scorer Andy Burke, Peter Drummond, Dale Ervine, Drew Leonard, Anton Nistl, Peter Pelle, Hubert Rotteveel, Thomas Silvas, Nick Skvarna, Doug Swanson, Academic Counselor Fred Stroock, Trainer Tony Spino and Head Coach Sigi Schmid.
