Four Women's Water Polo Players Earn Academic All-America Honors

NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- The American Water Polo Coaches Association announced the 2000 All-Academic team with four players earning individual honors and the team receiving Team Honors.

For the second year, senior Carly Herrera (San Diego, Calif./Clairmont) earned Superior honors with a 3.52 GPA. The Aerospace Engineering major finished the year with 14 goals for the Bruins.

Sophomores Rebecca Miller (Huntington Beach, Calif./Marina) and Jenny Lamb (Huntington Beach, Calif./Marina) join freshman Maureen Flanagan (Honolulu, HI/Punahou) in receiving Excellent honors. Miller achieved a 3.30 GPA, while Lamb and Flanagan earned 3.24 and 3.23 GPA's, respectively. Lamb scored 10 goals for the national champion Bruins, while Flanagan had an excellent rookie campaign with 30 goals.

UCLA earned "Team Honors" given out to institutions whose combined team GPA is over 2.75. The Bruins combined team GPA was 2.83.
