UCLA's Chris Sands Drops Rolex Regional Quarterfinal Match

MALIBU, Calif. - UCLA junior Chris Sands fell to #1 seed Patrick Gottesleben of USC 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the Rolex Regionals Saturday.

In doubles action, the sixth-seeded Lassi Ketola/Sands duo lost 8-5 to #1 seed Ryan Moore and Nick Rainey of USC in the semifinals.

The ITA Rolex Region VIII-South Men's Tennis Championships is a four-day tournament which began on Thursday, Nov. 4 and concludes on Sunday, Nov. 7. The tournament, which hosts many of the region's top collegiate men's tennis players, includes a 64-player singles and 32-team doubles draw and features players from 12 schools-- Arizona, Arizona State, Cal Poly, Loyola Marymount, Nevada, Pacific, Pepperdine, San Diego, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara and USC.
