The UCLA Blue Team finished fourth Tuesday at the UC Riverside Braveheart Classic, hosted by Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, CA.
The Bruins posted their best score of the week, a one-under par 287, and compiled a 54-hole total of 873 (+9). Host UC Riverside won the event with a three-round total of 850 (-14), followed by Cal Poly SLO at 858 (-6) and UC Santa Barbara at 869 (+5).
Individually, sophomore Chris Heintz finished ninth at 213 (-3) despite carding a 76 in the final round. Freshmen Craig Leslie and Matt Marshall each fired rounds of 70 (-2). Leslie tied for 24th at 220 (+4) and Marshall tied for 31st at 222 (+6). Brandon Christianson shot a 71 on Tuesday and tied for 18th at 218 (+2).
UC Riverside's Brandon Steele won medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 203 (-13).
The Gold Team will travel this week to Las Vegas for a tournament at Southern Highlands GC, Mar. 11-13, and the Blue Team returns to action next week at the UC Irvine Anteater Invitational, Mar. 14-15 at El Niguel CC.
