UCLA junior Roy Moon is in second place entering the final round of the 104th Southern California Amateur Championships, hosted at Torrey Pines Golf Course in LaJolla, CA.
Moon posted an even par round of 72 Saturday and is in second place at 211, five-under par. He trails USC sophomore Nico Bollini, the defending champion, by three shots. Bollini posted a one-over par score of 73 in the third round. Moon's card revealed a roller-coaster round. He recorded six birdies, four bogeys and a double-bogey at the par 3 16th.
Other UCLA players posted the following scores. Steve Conway shot a three-under par 69, one of just two on the day, and stands in sixth place at one-under par 215. Sophomore John Poucher posted a one-under par 71 and is tied for ninth at 219, three-over par. Juniors Travis Johnson and John Merrick are tied for 11th place at 220, four-over par, and sophomore Breene Murphy is tied for 15th at 222, six-over par.
Final round action begins Sunday.
