1997 NCAA Men's Soccer champion UCLA signed forward Sean Walker, a member of the U.S. Youth National Team pool. Walker, a 5-9 forward from Kansas City, MO, was the 1997 Kansas City Star All-Metro Player of the Year.
Walker played his senior year at Rockhurst HS in Kansas City and scored 27 goals and 15 assists while leading his team to the Missouri 4A state tournament for the first time since 1994. Walker earned NSCAA first-team All-Midwest honors in 1997.
Prior to his family moving to Kansas City, Walker played at Jesuit HS in Sacramento, CA. As a junior, he earned NSCAA honorable mention All-American honors, as well as All-Metro and All-West honors. He was a member of the California State Team and the ODP Region IV Team from 1995-97.
Said UCLA head coach Sigi Schmid, "Sean has speed and quickness and likes to go forward. He will be a good addition to our attacking play."
