Keira Goerl Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Goerl pitched in three games for the Bruins last week, a 5-1 win over #25 Long Beach State, a 7-2 win over Utah and UCLA's nine-inning win over Fresno State. For the week, she went 3-0 with a 0.91 ERA, striking out 26 and walking eight, one intentional. She held opposing batters to a .107 average during her 23 innings in the circle.

Goerl allowed just two hits against the 49ers, striking out six and walking two. She followed with a 7-2 win over Utah, striking out 11, walking four and allowing just one hit in the game.

Goerl now has a career record of 114-14 with a 0.68 ERA. She has thrown 858 career innings with 939 strikeouts. Her 114 career victories rank tied for 10th on the NCAA's all-time list, while her career percentage of .890 would rank fourth on the NCAA's all-time list for Division I. Her strikeout total ranks 23rd.

This is Goerl's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and fourth of her career.
