Head Coach Amy Fuller

"This was our first ever win in the history of the Berg Cup, and it was a really good way to start the official season. It was a really good measure on how we stack up, so there is a little bit of a picture now as to where we are starting out. I hope this will give us a little more confidence, but we do know that we have a long way to go to get a little bit faster."

On the UCLA 2V8:
"They had a pretty good race. They were focusing on OCC, and USD kind of snuck up on them. I think it was a really good learning experience for them. Unfortunately, we came out on the very short end of it, but if you can walk away learning something, you should be happy. I think they had a great performance."

On the UCLA novices:
"I think the novices looked great. I'm real excited about the future of the program. Both novice eights did well, and the first novice eight in particular showed control and were in command of the race. It was a really nice start for them as well."

Assistant Coach Bill Zack

On the UCLA novices:
"We already had our lineups by Thursday, so to prepare for this race, we did a simulated race off of our electronic speed coach. The best thing that they did was keep it very even on the speed throughout, and I think that helped them prepare for today. I think the best thing was not the margin of victory but how good they looked on the water. I just think they rowed very well today."
