The UCLA men's golf team is tied for first place entering the final round of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, hosted by California at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, CA.
The Bruins are deadlocked with Fresno State at 552, 14-under par, after 36 holes. The second round was completed Tuesday morning after darkness halted play Monday evening.
Northwestern is third at 555, followed by Washington and California at 562.
Individually, the Bruins boasted three scores in the 60s from juniors Roy Moon, Travis Johnson and John Merrick. Moon carded his second consecutive 68 and is tied for sixth at six-under par 136. Johnson fired a five-under par 66 and is tied for 11th at four-under 138. Merrick posted a two-under par 69 and is tied for 30th at 143. The Bruins' other junior, Steve Conway, is tied for 21st at 141 and freshman Spencer Levin is tied for 30th at 143.
Northwestern's Tom Johnson is tied for first at nine-under par 133 with Oregon's John Ellis. Fresno State All-American Nick Watney is third at eight-under par 134 after posting his second straight 67.
