June 3, 2003
Four UCLA football games have been selected by either ABC or Fox Sports Net and more will be selected during the season.
By contract both ABC and Fox select the first three weeks of the season and several other dates by May 1 and June 1, respectively. The remainder of their telecasts will be selected 12 days prior to the game with ABC selecting first.
UCLA's first game under new head coach Karl Dorrell is scheduled for Sept. 6 at Colorado (12:30 p.m. PT) and it will be televised by ABC as part of its Big 12 package. UCLA's home opener on Sept. 13 against Illinois will also be televised by ABC (5:00 pm.).
The Sept. 20 game at Oklahoma is expected to be televised as part of ABC's Big 12 package, but the network does not have to select it until 12 days prior to the contest. If selected, it will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. PT. The Sept. 27 home game versus San Diego State is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Bruins open the Pac-10 portion of their schedule on Oct. 4, hosting Washington at the Rose Bowl. That game has a good chance of being televised by either ABC (12:30 p.m.) or Fox Sports Net (3:30 p.m.). UCLA's game at Arizona on Oct. 11 could also be televised by either ABC (12:30 p.m.) or Fox Sports Net (3:30 p.m.) while the Oct. 18 home game against California could be selected by either ABC (12:30 p.m.) or Superstation TBS (7:00 p.m.), which has an agreement with Fox to televise six Pac-10 games this season.
The Oct. 25 Homecoming contest against Arizona State will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. and be televised by Fox Sports Net. Kickoff for the Nov. 1 game at Stanford is tentatively scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
UCLA's Nov. 8 game at Washington State will be televised at 4:00 p.m. by ABC. The time for the Nov. 15 home finale against Oregon is TBD, as is the time for the regular-season finale at USC on Nov. 22.
