Los Angeles -- The UCLA athletic department and women's tennis coach Stella Sampras have recently appointed Jon Reeves assistant coach, replacing former assistant Rance Brown, who has moved on to continue his private coaching career.

Reeves comes to UCLA after serving a two-year term as co-director of tennis at the Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, Calif. Prior to that, he was vice president of the ACE Tennis Academy in Atlanta, Ga., from 1997-99.

"We're very excited that Jon will be joining our coaching staff," said Sampras, who is entering her fifth season as UCLA's head coach. "He brings a wealth of experience as both a player and a coach, and I think he will have a tremendous impact on this program."

Reeves, who has over six years of professional coaching experience, is also an accomplished player having lettered four years at the University of South Carolina from 1989-93.

He has been a certified member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) since 1997.
