Bruins Among the Leaders at Carson Daly Invitational

UCLA freshman Kevin Chappell was tied for the lead after 36 holes in the Carson Daly Invitational, hosted by Loyola-Marymount at Robinson Ranch Golf Course in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Chappell fired rounds of 70-69--139 (-3) and was tied with Jason Galon of Grand Canyon University. Galon posted scores of 68-71.

UCLA's Brandon Christianson was tied for seventh place at 143 (+1) after posting rounds of 70-73 and teammate Craig Leslie was tied for 11th at 76-69--145 (+3). Freshman Matt Marshall was tied for 46th at 155 (+13).

Holy Names has a one stroke lead in the team standings at 583, followed by Grand Canyon at 584 and Santa Clara at 591.
