Two Current, Four Former Bruins Named to USA Olympic Softball Team

Current UCLA softball players Christie Ambrosi (Overland Park, KS) and Stacey Nuveman (LaVerne, CA) were among the 15 players chosen by the Amateur Softball Association/USA Softball to represent the defending gold medalist United States at the 2000 Olympics and the upcoming upcoming Bank of America/U.S. Olympic Cup.

Also chosen to the team were former Bruins Jennifer Brundange (Irvine, CA), Sheila Douty (Diamond Bar, CA), Lisa Fernandez (Long Beach, CA) and Dot Richardson (Orlando, FL). All four were members of the 1996 gold medal winning team.

Sophomore pitcher Amanda Freed (Cypress, CA) is one of five alternates.
