Los Angeles, CA- The UCLA women's diving team will host the Bruin Invitational this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 19-20) at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. Teams expected to compete include USC, Irvine, Hawaii, Kansas, Connecticut, UC Davis, San Jose State, University of San Diego and UC San Diego. Redlands will compete on Friday, while Cal State Northridge will participate on Saturday.
UCLA's diving team, under third-year coach Tom Stebbins, features six divers who have all qualified for the Zone E meet. The group is led by senior Anne Baghramian and freshman newcomer Michelle Brown, who have both performed well in early season invitationals. Baghramian placed seventh in both the three-meter and platform events at the Georgia Invitational (Jan. 5-7), while Brown placed sixth in the platform.
Sophomore Regan Gosnell, who has put in solid performances despite missing some meets earlier in the season due to injury, is inactive for the meet. Other Bruins who have met the qualifying standard for the Zone E meet and are expected to compete are Jennifer McNally, Heidi Prosser and Kasey Reinhard.
McNally is coming off a strong performance last week after claiming the one-meter against Washington State and UC San Diego, while Prosser finished first on the three-meter.
Events on both days will begin at 10 am. with the women's three-meter and men's one-meter being held on Friday and the women's one-meter and men's three-meter on the following day. The final event of the invite, the men and women's platform will begin at 3 pm.
