March 27, 2004
UCLA's women and men's track & field teams competed this weekend (March 26-27) at the Stanford Invitational at Palo Alto.
The Bruin women were led by sophomore Chelsea Johnson who became the first woman in collegiate history to vault 15-0 feet, winning the event. The 15-0 (4.57m) vault broke her own NCAA Outdoor/UCLA record of 14-9 that she set on March 6 and it's the No. 5 mark all-time. Johnson's vault also broke the meet record of 14-1.25 (4.30m) set by Tracy O'Hara of UCLA in 2002.
