UCLA leads the series with the Golden Bears, 30-8. The Bruins won the first two meetings this season, in Berkeley on December 30, 64-48, after forcing 33 Cal turnovers, and 58-48 on Feb. 22 in Pauley, limiting the visitors to 22.6% shooting. The winner of the Cal-UCLA first round game will meet top-seeded Stanford (28-1, 18-0) on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The Pac-10 regular season champion Cardinal leads the all-time series with UCLA by a 26-19 count and won both meetings of this season, including last Sunday's 98-80 decision in Pauley. Gennifer Arranaga sparked the Bruins with a career-high 21 points. In December, Stanford bested UCLA by a score of 81-50 in Palo Alto. Jalina Bradley led the Bruins in that contest with 14 points. The Cardinal enters the tournament on a 20-game winning streak and has yet to lose in 2002. Its lone setback came to Tennessee, 68-62, in December.
