The UCLA women's golf team finished eighth at the TRW Regional Challenge Wednesday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The Bruins posted a team score of 302 to finish with a 54-hole total of 912, 60-over par. They finished four shots behind USC and five shots ahead of Wake Forest.
Second-ranked Tulsa won the tournament with three-round total of 870, 18-over par. Texas placed second at 893 and Oklahoma State took third.
Individually for the Bruins, freshman Yvonne Choe placed in a tie for 33rd at 229 after posting a final round score of 75. Sophomore Krystal Shearer tied for 36th at 230 and senior Alicia Um tied for 43rd at 232. Johanna Andersson tied for 50th at 234 after posting a final round 75. Sophomore Melissa Martin tied for 53rd at 235 with a final round of 77, and freshman Charlotte Mayorkas tied for 64th at 238.
Arizona's Lorena Ochoa fired a three-under par 68 in the final round to capture medalist honors at seven-under par 206. Christi Cano of Oklahoma State and Angela Jerman of Georgia tied for second place at 212.
