Swimmer Malin Svahnstrom Places Third in 100 Free at World Cup

At the World Cup Meet, held in Long Island, NY, Bruin freshman Malin Svahnstrom placed third in the 100 Free and sixth in the 200 Free. In the 100 Free, Svahnstrom swam an NCAA provisional time of 55.73 while finishing third. In the 200 Free, Svahnstrom swam a 1:59.05, which automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Championships (March 21-23, 2002).
