Los Angeles --The UCLA Athletic Department, in its effort to expand its widening women's basketball audience, is providing three ways for interested fans to listen to Bruin women's basketball via the radio, over the Internet and even by the telephone.
UCLA has signed for the second straight year an agreement with Los Angeles sport leader Clear Channel to radio broadcast its games. A record four regular season games will be live over the UCLA Flagship Station KTRA 1150 AM. This includes road games at BYU and Washington State, plus home games versus Arizona and Oregon State. Any NCAA playoff games are also scheduled live over 1150 AM.
The 1150 AM signal is utilized by UCLA football and men's basketball, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Bruins will also have games again this season on both KAVL 610 in Antelope Valley and KACD 850 in 1000 Oaks. A Riverside station is in the process of being added to the Clear Channel UCLA women's lineup.
Games will again be broadcast live over the Internet at www.uclabruins.com. The FansOnly Network through ESPN will be responsible for the broadcasts this season. This year UCLA has added the TRZ network to the broadcast lineup. If radio and Internet access are not available, one can call the TRZ Network at 1-800-846-4700 and enter the UCLA Code of 5929 to listen to the broadcasts. The cost is $.15 per minute for a season ticket holder or about $.50 per minute for selected games.
Lou Riggs will again call play-by-play on the UCLA women's basketball games with Michael Sondheimer and Doug Kim doing color commentary. For selected home and road games, former UCLA women's basketball players will be added to the broadcast team.
