No. 9 UCLA and San Diego faced off today and came out with a 2-2 tie in double overtime. The Bruins were coming off a 2-1 double overtime win on Wednesday over CS Fullerton, but were not able to clinch the win today. Claire Currie put the Toreros up 1-0 going into the half, scoring in the 21st minute off assists from Jessica Crothers and Aimee Wagstaff. Senior forward Larisa Kiremidjian put UCLA on the board in the 47th minute, heading in the goal off sophomore defender Karissa Hamptons assist. Sophomore forward Tracey Milburn put the Bruins up 2-1 in the 65th minute, scoring off assists from Janine Altman and Louise Lieberman. With time winding down, San Diegos Gina Poltl evened up the score, scoring from 18 yards out in the 83rd minute. This is UCLAs first tie since September 27, 1996 when the Bruins tied San Diego 0-0. UCLAs record drops to 7-1-1 and the Toreros drop to 5-3-1. UCLA plays UC Irvine at Irvine on Wednesday, September 30 at 6 pm.
