UCLA's women's water polo coach Adam Krikorian has signed what is considered the top recruiting class in the nation. Each of the six recruits will enter UCLA in the fall of 2003 and are expected to have an immediate impact on the program.
Brittney Bowlus (Newport Coast, CA/Corona Del Mar HS) is a driver who earned All-League and All-CIF honors in high school. Her brother Garrett is currently a red shirt freshman on the men's water polo team.
Molly Cahill (Santa Barbara, CA/Santa Barbara HS) is a driver and one of the top players in Ventura County this year. She is a two time All-CIF selection and was a starter on her high school's CIF Championship team two years go.
Gabrielle Domanic (Santa Ana, CA/Foothill HS) is a driver who is regarded as the No. 1 field player in the country. In high school Domanic earned All-CIF and High School All-America honors and led her team to three straight CIF Titles. She is a starter on the USA Junior Team and just returned from an international tournament in Greece with the USA National Team.
Emily Feher (Santa Ana, CA/Foothill HS) is regarded as the premier young goalkeeper in the USA. Feher was named the CIF Playoff MVP last year and recorded the first championship match shutout in CIF history. She is a member of the USA Junior National Team and was a regular starter on the team that won the Pan-Am Junior Title.
Kacy Kunkel (Dove Canyon, CA/Santa Margarita HS) is a driver and USA Junior Team program player. Kunkel's sister Kristina is also a member of the women's water polo team.
Jennifer Murphy (Newport Beach, CA/Newport HS) is a driver who earned All-League and All-CIF honors in high school. Her father also attended UCLA.
"I am thrilled to welcome these six outstanding student-athletes into our water polo family. They all have the work ethic and drive to be successful in the classroom, in the pool, and certainly in life," said Krikorian. "I am confident that they will all play an important role in continuing the tradition of excellence that has been established by our water polo program."
