STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific Tigers women's water polo team fell in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game to No. 1 UCLA, 15-1, on Sunday, Apr. 10 at Chris Kjeldsen Pool. Pacific dropped to 10-13 overall and 2-8 in the MPSF, while UCLA remained perfect at 24-0 overall and 9-0 in MPSF play.
The Tigers were tied at 1-1 with the Bruins at the 4:20 mark in the first quarter. After drawing an ejection, senior Sarah Meerdink (Stockton, Calif.) netted her 10th goal of the season on the power play to tie things up.
The Bruins would then take over and it was all UCLA the rest of the way, scoring two more goals in the quarter and then adding five more in the second quarter for an 8-1 lead at halftime.
UCLA scored seven more goals in the second half and cruised to the 15-1 win. Ten different players scored for UCLA, led by Olympian Kelly Rulon's four goals.
