After a morning of packing and taking care of the last minute plans, the team met at noon to head off to the NCAA Championships in Athens, Georgia. After winning regionals, we found out that we were scheduled to plan #25 Oklahoma State in the Sweet 16. The Cowboys had upset #11 Minnesota in the finals of regionals.
After arriving in Atlanta a little before 11:00 pm EST, we made the 75 minute drive north to Athens, home of the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia, last years NCAA finalists and a regular powerhouse had an off-year and lost last weekend at regionals. This really neutralizes the tournament and it should be interesting to see how the crowd is this weekend without their home team in the tournament. On the drive home, it was a unanimous decision to stop by Waffle House for dinner. For those of you who have never been to the Waffle House (they don't have them in California) you will understand that while it is not exactly healthy and will probably cause clogged arteries, it is so good.
Today begins our quest for the National Championships. It is now 2:30 am EST, which is only 11:30 pm pacific time, but we all need to quickly adjust to the time so I'm going to bed.
