Bruins to Compete at the Head of the Port

Los Angeles, Calif - The UCLA women's rowing team opens up the fall schedule this Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Head of the Port in Sacramento. The Bruins have entered a pair in the competition, hosted by the River City Rowing Club (RCRC). They will compete in Women's Open 2- scheduled for 10:10 a.m.

Rowing for the Bruins are seniors Irene Condella and Dawn Regan. Condella and Regan both rowed in the varsity boat last season.

The course for the Head of the Port stretches 5.7 kilometers and starts 3 miles west of the RCRC boathouse, finishing past the turning basin in the "locks" area. The finish line is 200 meters past the Industrial Blvd. bridge.
