UCLA Track Teams' Updated Rankings

April 4, 2001

In this week's Trackwire Top 25, Jeanette Bolden's UCLA women's team is rated No. 2 and Art Venegas' Bruin men's squad is tied for 20th (with George Mason).

This is the first week the UCLA men have been in the national collegiate outdoor rankings. The Bruin women, the two-time defending NCAA Indoor team champions, were rated No. 1 for the last two weeks, but this week are behind No. 1 USC. The Bruins and Trojans (the USC men are tied for No. 6 in this week's rankings) will meet for their annual men's and women's dual meet on Saturday, May 5 at USC.

UCLA's final home meet of the season at Drake Stadium will be Saturday, April 14, vs. Nebraska and CS Northridge. In this week's Trackwire Top 25, the Cornhusker men are not ranked and the Husker women are 15th.

Trackwire's weekly collegiate outdoor national Top 25 is based on how a team is predicted to score at the upcoming 2001 NCAA Outdoor Championships, May 30-June 2 in Eugene, OR.
