Cyndi Gallagher's No. 11 UCLA swim and dive team will head to Federal Way, WA for the 2005 Pac-10 Championships Wed., Feb. 23-Sat., Feb. 26. Last year, the Bruins finished second to Stanford, and will vie for the Pac-10 title as junior Kim Vandenberg leads the team into competition.

Last year at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships, UCLA had four individual champions and one relay champion: Sarah Platzer (50 and 200 Free), Katie Arnold (100 and 200 Back) and the 200 Free Relay team of Vandenberg, Malin Svahnstrom, Amy Thurman and Platzer. Eight school records fell during the meet and this year's team has the potential for several more individual champions and school records to fall.

Six Bruin women and two relays currently rank in collegeswimming.com's top-25 rankings: Vandenberg in the 200 Fly (4th, 1:55.56), 100 Fly (12th (53.95) and 200 Free (25th, 1:47.60); sophomore Katie Nelson in the 1650 Free (11th, 16:16.65); sophomore Katie Arnold in the 100 Back (17th, 54.58); freshman Chiemi Yamamoto in the 200 Breast (23rd, 2:15.13).
