Los Angeles - Head Coach John Savage announced Tuesday that Matthew Drummond (Paso Robles, Calif./Paso Robles HS) has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to attend school and play baseball at UCLA. Drummond, a 6-foot-1 left-handed pitcher, joins eight other student-athletes who will join the UCLA program in the fall.
"We are very fortunate to have Matt Drummond as a part of our future," Savage said. "Matt had one of the best senior years of any left-handed pitcher in Southern California, and he will make an immediate impact on our pitching staff. He will be an outstanding collegiate pitcher at UCLA."
Drummond joins Charles Brewer (Paradise Valley, Ariz/Chaparral HS), Gavin Brooks (Vista, Calif./Rancho Buena Vista HS), Garett Claypool (West Hills, Calif./El Camino Real HS), Gabe Cohen (Woodland Hills, Calif./El Camino Real HS), Casey Hearther (Chatsworth, Calif./Chaminade HS), Jeff Rapoport (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake HS), Justin Uribe (Tustin, Calif./Foothill HS), and Mickey Weisser (Citrus Heights, Calif./Sierra College) as incoming Bruins for the 2007 season.
