Lam into Quarters at ITA All-American

Chattanooga, Tenn. - UCLA junior Chris Lam posted a straight-set victory Friday in the round of 16 at the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Men's Tennis Championships.

Lam, who is ranked No. 29 in the Preseason ITA Rankings, earned a spot in Saturday's quarterfinals after posting a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Auburn's Gabor Zol Pelvo. Next up for Lam will be fourth-seeded Alex Vlaski of Washington. Vlaski moved into the quarters Friday with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Baylor's Benjamin Becker, seeded 14th.

The Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championship is the largest single tournament in the country and is the first of three national championship events on the 2003-04 NCAA tennis schedule.
