Bruins Ninth After Round Two In Georgia

ROCKY FACE, Georgia - The UCLA men's golf team was in ninth place after the second round at the Carpet Capital Invitational, hosted by Georgia Tech at The Farm in Rocky Face, GA.

The Bruins posted a team score of 301 and have a 36-hole team total of 601. They trail eighth place North Carolina State by five shots.

Georgia Tech leads the tournament at 562, 14-under par, followed by Tennessee at 572 and Wake Forest at 576.

Individually, senior Parker McLachlin and sophomore Steve Conway lead the Bruins at 149 and are tied for 29th place. Sophomore John Merrick is tied for 46th at 153, followed by Roy Moon, who is tied for 51st at 154. Sang-Eun Ji is tied for 57th at 156.

Georgia Tech's Troy Matteson leads the field at 137, seven under par, followed by Clemson's D.J. Trahn at 138. Two players are tied for third at 139.

Final round action continues Sunday.
