LOS ANGELES (AP) - Aaron Afflalo had 22 points and nine rebounds, and Dijon Thompson added 17 points and five assists Thursday night to lead UCLA to a 90-69 victory over USC.

Michael Fey, the Bruins' 7-foot center, and Thompson, a 6-foot-7 forward, dominated the frontcourt, often getting completely open for dunks against the Trojans' porous defense.

Fey finished with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Heading down the stretch of the season, the Bruins (15-9, 9-7 Pac-10) hope to finish strongly to enhance their chances of an NCAA tournament bid.

They led their crosstown rivals 49-33 at halftime and extended the lead to 30 points in the second half before both teams began substituting freely.

Jeff McMillan led USC (11-16, 4-12) with 17 points and eight rebounds. The Trojans, last in the conference, also got 11 points from Rory O'Neil.

Fey, getting good position under the basket and good feeds from his teammates for open shots, had 11 first-half points to help UCLA build its 16-point lead.

Thompson chipped in with nine points and four assists, and Josh Shipp added nine points for UCLA in the first half. Shipp didn't score in the second half.

Outplaying the Trojans on defense to trigger their offense with fast breaks, the Bruins reeled off a 14-0 string during a four-minute span to take a commanding lead late in the first half.

They had six steals in the opening 20 minutes, including three by Thompson, who added another in the second half.

The Bruins had an easier time of it in the rematch after having to rally from an 18-point halftime deficit in a 72-69 win on Jan. 29. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak against their crosstown rivals and was UCLA's first on the Trojans' court since 2001.

UCLA leads the all-time series 129-98.
