Up Next . . .
After managing a split up in the Bay Area last weekend, the No. 7 UCLA women's tennis team will return home to the Los Angeles Tennis Center to host the Washington schools this Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Bruins will host Washington State at the LATC beginning at 1:30 p.m. On Saturday, UCLA will take on No. 18 Washington beginning at Noon. The Bruins own a 7-1 all-time record against the Cougars and are 8-1 lifetime against the Huskies.

UCLA in the Rankings . . .
As a team, the Bruins moved up one spot to No. 7 in the latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Rankings released on Wednesday. Individually, UCLA is the only school in the country with two players currently listed in the top-10 of the singles rankings, as Megan Bradley checks in at No. 4 and Sara Walker is ranked No. 7. In addition, Petya Marinova is ranked No. 70 in the nation. UCLA is also the only school in the country to have two doubles teams in the top-10 nationally. Bruins Round Out Regular Season at Home . . .
UCLA will play all four of its final regular-season matches at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. After hosting Washingon State and Washington this weekend, the Bruins will close out the regular season on April 19 and 20 against Stanford and Cal respectively. All weekday matches begin at 1:30 p.m. and Saturday matches begin at Noon. All UCLA home tennis matches are free to the public.

Ojai Just Around the Corner . . .
The Pac-10 Championships are scheduled for April 25-28 in Ojai, Calif. UCLA's Megan Bradley and Sara Walker will no doubt be favorites to take home the singles crown, while the Bruin duo's of Petya Marinova/Walker and Bradley/Lauren Fisher will be vying for the doubles championship. The Bruin duo of Mariko Fritz-Krockow and Walker are the defending Pac-10 Champs after defeating teammates Fisher/Marinova, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 in last year's final.

Head Coach Stella Sampras . . .
Stella Sampras is currently in her sixth season as the head coach of the UCLA women's tennis program with a career record of 90-56. Sampras became only the third head coach in UCLA women's tennis history when she was named the successor to longtime head coach Bill Zaima, who announced his retirement effective the end of the 1995-96 season. In her first five seasons at UCLA, Sampras guided the Bruins to four top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, including two top-5 showings (1997 and 2000). In 2000, she was named the ITA West Region Coach of the Year.
