In the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll (as of Feb. 13), UCLA (5-4, 2-4 Pac-10) is ranked No. 12 in the nation.
The Bruins will compete at the Pac-10 Championships beginning Thursday, February 27 and ending Saturday, March 1. The championships, hosted by Cal, will take place at the Weyerheauser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, WA,
At last year's Pac-10 Championships, the Bruins placed fifth overall. The Bruins were led Sara Platzer, who placed second in the 50 Free and third in the 100 Free, and Malin Svahnstrom, who was fifth in the 100 Free and fourth in the 200 Free.
UCLA was victorious at the 2001 championships, one of just three schools to have claimed the conference crown (Arizona and Stanford are the other two).
Coach Cyndi Gallagher has had four Bruins swim qualifying times for the NCAA Championships (March 20-22). In addition to the automatic qualifiers, 11 individuals and two relay squads have provisionally qualified. Listed below are the Bruins' NCAA qualifiers.

National Letters of Intent
During the fall signing period, three recruits signed National Letters of Intent to join the Bruins.
Jeana Fuccillo (Lebanon, IL/Althoff Catholic HS), Katie Nelson (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA/Peninsula HS) and Amy Thurman (Orinda, CA/Miramonte HS) will enter as true freshman in fall 2003.
The Pac-10 Championships, hosted by Cal, will take place Thursday through Saturday, February 27 to March 1, in Federal Way, WA.
The NCAA Championships will take place Thursday through Saturday, March 20-22, in Auburn, AL.
