Bruins Earn Number Two Seed For NCAAs

Los Angeles, CA --The No. 3 ranked UCLA Bruins were selected as the number two seed for the 2001 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships announced by the NCAA selection committee this afternoon. The 64-team format will be divided into 16 regional sites.

The Bruins will face Cal State Sacramento in the opening round on May 12 at the LA Tennis Center at 1:00 pm. The two other teams selected to the regional are South Carolina and the University of South Florida, who are slated to face each other in the other first round match on Saturday (May 12) at 10:00 am. The regional championship final will take place on Sunday, May 13 at noon.

In individual competition, senior Jean-Noel Grinda and sophomore Jean-Julien Rojer were selected for the NCAA tournament. The tandem will also represent the Bruins in doubles at the NCAAs.
