Box Score

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Arizona State overcame a career game from Nikki Blue to beat UCLA 73-71 on Saturday and advance to the semifinals of the Pac-10 tournament.

Kristen Kovesdy scored 14 of her 19 points in the second half for the third-seeded Sun Devils (21-8), who won their fourth straight and six of seven overall.

Arizona State won its first tournament game since beating Stanford in the 2002 championship game, and will meet the winner of a later game between Washington and Oregon.

Kylan Loney scored 18 points, including a pair of key 3-pointers in the final minutes as the Sun Devils beat UCLA for the third time this season. Amy Denson added 15 points.

Blue scored a career-high 36 points, one shy of Nicole Powell's tournament record, as the Bruins (16-12) lost their third straight and fifth in six games.

Lisa Willis matched her season high of 25 points for UCLA. Blue and Willis combined for a tournament record 61 points. The previous best was 48 by Washington State's Brittany Hawks and Jessica Perry in 2002.

Blue did set a record with 14 field goals made and 29 attempted. Willis made two 3-pointers to tie the school record with 70 on the year.

Blue's two free throws gave UCLA a 58-57 lead with 5:40 remaining.

Loney, Arizona State's career leader in 3-pointers with 152, sank consecutive long range shots to put the Sun Devils up for good.

Blue brought the Bruins within two with a laup in the final minute, but she missed a short jumper with four seconds remaining that would have tied the game.

UCLA also held an early lead but Arizona State rallied to take a 35-33 halftime advantage.
