Three UCLA men's golfers and Head Coach O.D. Vincent earned All-America honors, the Golf Coaches Assn. of America announced.
Junior Steve Conway earned 2nd Team All-America honors after winning two tournaments and leading the Bruins in several statistical categories. Three-year letterman John Merrick, the 2003 Pac-10 individual champion, earned honorable mention All-America acclaim for the second straight year. Merrick tied for 16th at the NCAA Championships. Junior Travis Johnson, who tied for 19th individually at the NCAAs, earned GCAA Academic All-America honors. Johnson also earned GCAA Honorable Mention All-America honors and All-Region acclaim.
In addition, first-year coach O.D. Vincent, the 2003 Pac-10 Coach of the Year, was named Pacific Region Coach of the Year. Vincent guided the Bruins to seven tournament victories, a modern school record, including their first NCAA Regional title.
Finally, the Bruins' fourth junior, Roy Moon, earned GCAA All-Region honors. Moon was a 2nd Team All-Pac-10 selection.
