Head Coach Amy Fuller
"For the varsity race, we just wanted to stick as close as we could. We knew they were going a little faster than us, but our goal has been to step it up every weekend and improve one aspect of our racing."
"I think the novice team is making a breakthrough in terms of taking the boat out of the water and moving the boat more efficiently."
Assistant Coach Guillermo Lemus
"We've taken humongous steps. We've been beating teams that are at our same level, and having four Eights that are pretty much similar in speed is just pushing everybody up a little more."
Kate Harbour (Sophomore Varsity Coxswain)
"We were right up there with LMU, who is a pretty big competitorin the Pac-10's and around here. We stepped it up really nicely and did a nice job working together in the boat."
"We had a nice start, but the third five hundred is kind of the hardest part to get through in the race. We have a move that we do, it's kind of like a commitment move, where we all pull together to get through the hardest part, and it worked pretty well.
Dawn Regan (Junior Novice Starboard)
"We had really good week of practice and made some leaps and bounds. We really came together as a unit today. It felt really good out there and we had a lot of run. The coxswain (Kate Woodruff) made some great calls, and we just stuck together as a team. I think this was one of our best races, and we just wanted to get it done, take care of business early on, and get in and get out."
